We had a vivid webinar on mobility and want to stick with this topic for the time being. We discussed whether there are differences between urban and rural areas (there are), why we need autonoumus what the biggest annoyances are in old age – and that the term e-scooter is ambiguous. It refers to both e-rollers that you stand on and scooters for people with limited mobility who can sit on them.
Christa talked about her experiences in Hamburg, where she attended 17 participation events. Age-friendly mobility there included, for example, sidewalks without tripping hazards, good lighting, gritting services in winter, more age-friendly benches, shuttles that pick people up from home at a reasonable price and longer green phases at traffic lights for pedestrians.
At the next meeting, on the 24.9.24 at 3 pm CET we want to explore the topic in greater depth and adopt a position paper.
Today we also spoke about the elections in Europe and the results. See also our posts on that on this homepage.
